    1.  Prioritize work-life integration

    The greatest factor that leads to unhappiness is stress. Stress and negative attitudes about work are a direct result of employee work-life balance being considerably disrupted. Unfortunately, this important aspect is often overlooked.

    It is important that employees feel happy and inspired by their work-life and able to put it all aside when they go home. This creates a sense of accountability in the work culture which always has positive results. Encourage your employees to leave their issues at home and not bring their work from the office home.

    In addition to this, here are a few other ways that work-life balance can be improved personally and professionally. 

    Take the time to re-examine the priorities you have in your life and see if they can be optimized. Keep your balance between your professional and personal objectives well distinguished.

    Don’t be afraid of failures. Shooting for perfection is a bad idea and can begin to affect your personal life because of frustration. Be ready to accept that you will always make mistakes on the path to life and try to take things one day at a time.

    Make sure that you are keeping your body and mind well-nourished with the proper foods and essential nutrients that promote health, vigor, and well-being.

    Set your work hours and stick to them religiously. When you have finished work, disconnect from everything and rest your mind for the day.

    Take plenty of time outdoors on your days off. Connecting with nature is a good way to keep the mind fresh and relaxed. This will give you the mental vigor to tackle another week.

    Immerse yourself fully in the things you love to do. But take the time to do these things after you have completed your professional tasks. Maybe you like canoeing, kayaking, hiking, taking road trips, weaving, or listening to music. Take time regularly to engage in these activities for your mental sanity.

    Strep away from the computer at least once every 20 to 30 minutes. Some employees think they can sit before the withering blue screen and work full tilt for hours on end — even worse some people do. But the results can be considered mental and physical attrition. Take a moment to break the connection with these digital overlords and remind yourself you are a human being.

    Exercise regularly! The benefits of regular healthy exercise are not only important for your physical health but your emotional and mental health as well. Take time during the week to engage in these healthy activities. 

    2.  Encourage transparency and honesty

    Open and honest communication is the key to a happy workplace and a respectful work environment. Employees must be closely connected to the priorities, objectives, culture, and values of their work and their roles within them.     Connecting with employees goes a long way in establishing a healthy atmosphere and work environment. Saying hello and providing your workforce with praise is an essential part of creating a work environment that is based on mutual respect and appreciation.  

    It is equally important to make sure that each of your employees is valued in their company and that their concerns and problems are addressed as needed. It is important to make them feel valued and appreciated as this will be reciprocated and lead to happier employees.

    4.  Provide praise and recognition

    A study has shown that one of the most common reasons an employee will leave their job is to improve their living conditions. One of the greatest reasons could be that the employee feels underappreciated. Employees want to feel like their work matters and their contribution is recognized. Additionally, they will want feedback so they can know how they are doing and in which direction to proceed.

    Always provide feedback in the most positive tone and uplifting perspective. You will find that your employees have a natural passion for excellence that can be of great value if allied to your vision.

    Acknowledgment for employees can be done in many different ways. Bonuses, rewards, recognition, and prizes all provide that essential acknowledgment for a job well done. A little appreciation for their hard work and contribution can go a long way in building a happy and productive workforce.
