Working Principles of Proportional Solenoid Valve
The proportional solenoid valve working depends upon the electromagnetic movement of the coil and the armature. When the coil comes around the armature the small opening or the orifice opens. In the resting position, the spring brings back the coil to its resting position. The solenoid flow control valve coil comes in the way of the orifice(passage). This closes the flow of the liquid and gases from the solenoid flow valve.
The working principle of the solenoid pneumatic flow control valves depends upon the relative motion of the coil and the armature. These valves are selected due to outstanding automated control and responsiveness. You can readily able to open or close the solenoid valves due to the fast working principle. In this article, we are going to discuss the proportional solenoid valve working and their functionality.
The Functionality of the Solenoid Valves:
The functionality of the solenoid pneumatic flow control valves allows or stops the flow of liquid and gases. The proportional solenoid valve is fast and responsive as compared to manual valves. This is the main reason these valves are preferred over manual valves.
● You need to open and close the Solenoid valve during their work. It is the relative motion of the spring and coil which allows the quick opening or closing of the valves.
● A plunger raising the coil to open the small orifice to allow the liquid or the gas through the valves.
● The coil is connected to solenoid flow control valves that are connected to the electric supply, which energies the coil and its electromagnetic force become greater than the spring force. When it happens the Solenoid valves allow the liquid to pass through.
● On the other hand when the spring force becomes greater the electromagnetic force. The proportional solenoid valve in the halted condition. It stops the flow of liquid or gases through the valves.
The Basic Type of Solenoid Valves:
There are two basic types of solenoid valves, and it is disguised due to their functionality.
● Direct-acting Solenoid Valves
● Pilot-operated Solenoid Valves
Direct-Acting Solenoid Valves:
The Direct-acting Solenoid Valves are directly open and closed to allow or stop the flow of the liquid and gases. These valves are not pressure differential, and the proportional solenoid valve working principle needs the input command for opening and closing. These Direct-acting Solenoid Valves are used where small differential pressure is experienced.
Pilot-Operated Solenoid Valves:
The Pilot-operated Solenoid Valves are pressure differential devices. This solenoid valve working is automatic and opens or closes with a change of pressure. These valves are automated opening and closing by the change of pressure, you need to set a certain pressure after that these valves are going to open.
Conclusion:
The proportional solenoid valve working can be distinguished into two types. The direct-acting solenoid valve and the pilot valves in the piping system. The direct-acting pressure valves do need automated commands to switch on or off. On the other hand, the pilot solenoid valve is pressure sensitive, and these are going to open and close by changing pressure.
